Agency Spotlight: Girls on the Run
Greater Valdosta United Way is a proud partner of Girls on the Run. The nonprofit organization inspires young girls to tap into their unlimited potential.
Girls on the Run believes all girls are born with power and purpose. By using fun, research-based curriculum, the organization integrates running to promote a healthy physical and mental state.
With over 12,000 locations across the nation, Girls on the Run promotes confidence through all of their programs.
Grade level programs include third to fifth grade, sixth to eighth grade, Camp GotR, and an at home activity kit that can be purchased directly from their website.
97% of the girls in a Girls on the Run program reported they learned critical life skills.
“Our fun and inclusive lessons meet the unique needs of each girl, no matter her circumstances, ability or background,” said Girls on the Run.
The nonprofit has options for volunteering, coaching, and participating in 5k’s across the nation. They also have options to donate and partner with the organization.
