Leadership Moody: Team learns from local nonprofits VDT

Members of Moody Air Force base took part in the 23rd wing commanders development program called “Leadership Moody”. About 25 members visit with various organizations throughout a 10-month period, and learn leadership lessons along with the challenges they face. The group had met with The Haven, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lowndes County, Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, the YMCA, Second Harvest of South Georgia, the American Red Cross of South Georgia and the Annette Howell Turner Center for Arts. They found them interesting and mind opening, saying how it gave them insight on how the organizational leaders guide their nonprofits. It showed them how much of a tie the community has with the base as well. They were also given the chance to learn about volunteer opportunities, and how they where involved with Untied Way’s Day of Caring. The Air force Base also has another program called Emerge Moody, which is similar to Leadership Moody. It’s made up of junior officers, junior civilians, and junior enlisted. Leadership moody has had other¬† educational days as well. Such as Leadership in Primary Education with three local schools, Leadership in Highschool Education at local colleges, Leadership in Health Services at various heath-care facilities and Leadership in Industry at local companies.
