Third Annual Time Out for Bowling Tournament
The Third Annual Time Out for Bowling tournament was held at Jac’s Bowling Lanes on September 13. The tournament is between businesses and individuals who wish to go up against one another to raise money for Alzheimer’s Caregiver Time-Out (ACTO). ACTO is a non-profit agency that assists caregiving families of Alzheimer’s or dementia patients.
The organization raised around $4,200 during the tournament. Greater Valdosta United Way partially funds the group, but they also receive funds from various individuals, organizational donations, and fundraisers.
- The first-place winner was Team Thunder who was in a lane sponsored by Comfort Keepers.
- The Edward Jones team took second place, and Lowe Electric Supply Company sponsored their lane.
- The ACTO team, won third place, whose lane was sponsored by Amerimed Pharmacy.
- According to organizers, Micah Jernigan won the 50/50 drawing.
Colson Business Systems was the silver sponsor for the event, whereas the tournament bronze sponsors were Amerimed Pharmacy, Bush Wealth Management, Chaney Custom Homes LLC, Citizens Community Bank, Cliff and Leah Thomas, Coca-Cola, Comfort Keepers, Edward Jones, Georgia Farm Bureau/Steve Powell, Greater Valdosta United Way, Lowe Electric Supply Company, Southwest Georgia Bank, State Farm/Paul Cribbs, Valdosta RV LLC and the Valdosta State University Foundation/Psychology Club.
Upcoming events to look forward to, are a craft show on October 12, and a Bazaar at First United Methodist Church in November.
